PAPERLICIOUS.COM GOES GREENER WITH 100% RECYCLED FIBER PAPER

Wednesday, April 22, 2009 – ATHENS, GEORGIA – Paperlicious, an online custom-printed invitations and stationery boutique known for their stylish affordable paper goods, announced today that they will now use 100% recycled fiber paper from Neenah Environment for all of their printed products, including invitations, social notes, and Momager Calling Cards. This is a change from their previous 50% recycled fiber stock, which has been used since the company’s inception in 2005.

After enjoying tremendous growth in both 2006 and 2007, owner Amy DeRouen Nelson decided the time was right to up the ante on Paperlicious’ socially responsible mind-set. “We decided to make the switch from 50% recycled fiber to 100% because we felt to be a truly socially responsible company, we need to do as much as possible. 50% is good, but 100% is well 100%! We made the switch without a price increase for our customers too, because in addition to being socially responsible, we also feel it is important to be economically responsible. We think our customers appreciate our green efforts and our affordability factor. In fact, we see it as part of our customer relationship responsibility.”

The 100% recycled fiber paper that Paperlicious chose, Neenah Environgment, is Forest Stewardship Council certified, processed chlorine free and Green-e certified. Green-e is the nation's leading independent certification and verification program for renewable energy and greenhouse gas emission reductions in the retail market. According to the Neenah Paper website, using recycled fiber takes about 1.4 tons out of the land fill to produce 1.0 tons of recycled fiber. In addition less water, fewer chemicals and less energy are required.

Using recycled fiber paper is not the only way Paperlicious supports their community. The sale of many Paperlicious products trigger donations to various charities. For example, for every order received for their Twins!! line, Paperlicious donates $1 to the March of Dimes. Paperlicious also supports Operation Happy Note, a charity that provides musical instruments to soldiers overseas, and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, an organization that is determined to find a cure for Type I Diabetes.

Gifts & Decorative Accessories called Paperlicious a “fresh face” of the 2006 National Stationery Show. Paperlicious products have been featured in Pregnancy Magazine, Parents Magazine Goody Blog, and popular Mom-Blogs across the web, among the highlights. The online stationery hub has catered to such high-profile clients as Kid Rock, Pamela Anderson, and Nicollette Sheridan.
