NEW FEATURE- Party Tip Tuesday

What's a party without a sweet and stellar beverage, be it just juicy or alcoholic too?

For your holiday gathering this year, Ms. Paperlicious has a timely tip that's sure to spice up your Thanksgiving or Christmas feast... The Signature Cocktail (or beverage)!

To serve your signature drinks and get everyone mixing and mingling, set up a little bar with the ingredients displayed. It can be as easy as a folding table covered with a white table clothe. Draw yourself a little sign with the name of your signature drink, and you are ready to go!

Here's a few ideas we came up with:

The Turkey Lurkey- Spiced Cranberry Juice (with ginger and cinnamon) and if you are so inclined (and over 21, please), add a little vodka. Tastes like a sweet tart sweet heart! Serve chilled in a fancy glass or coat the rim of a straight glass in green sugar granules for added flair. You can serve the non-alcoholic version of this warm too. We think it's delicious.

Frosty Friend- 3 parts club soda or lemon lime, 1 part milk and a one small spoon of vanilla ice cream. Add a little mint extract or Peppermint Schnapps. Shake and pour (slowly or the foam will take over!)

Muddy Reindeer - basically, hot chocolate served in a glass that has been drizzled inside with chocolate syrup. Over 21 version- add a little Baileys or Godiva liquer.

And that's just off the top of our heads! Think about what you are serving for your meal, and play off of those flavors.

We're not talking plain 'ol party punch here. Whatever your holiday theme, you can come up with a fun and feisty drink that will be the talk of the party.

Cheers!

The Art of the Party Favor

Ms Paperlicious loves party favors. It's such a great way to send your guests off with a little thank you for coming to your shindig. Especially if it's a birthday party where they just gifted the guest of honor. (Side note: Party favors say "thanks for gracing us with your presence and witty conversation," not "thanks for the gift." Thank you cards still need to be hand-written and mailed when gifts are involved.)

Party favors, however, don't have to be elaborate or expensive. There are so many fantastic simple ideas. Here's a few of our favorite ideas to get your noggin thinking:

Girls' Bash (like bridal shower, bachelorette party, baby shower, slumber parties, all-gal bday parties):
  • Chocolate, of course!
  • Big colorful nail files
  • Decorative tissue packages
  • Tiny bottles of nail polish
  • lip balm
Co-ed Parties
  • A recipe card featuring a delicious dish you made plus one ingredient to get them started
  • Small votive glass and candle with a fragrance that matches your theme
  • Chocolates or candies
  • For weddings, we love a simple note saying you made a donation to a charity in their honor
Kids' Parties (avoid choking hazards for babies)
  • Theme ideas- like princess stickers, bouncy balls, slinky springs, bubbles!
  • Play-Doh
  • A Small amount of candies - mini m&ms, 1 swirly lollipop, etc.
  • box of crayons (stock up on these around school supply time)
Now what to do with your little giftie? You can find the perfect box or bag at www.papermart.com or use a simple white paper bag or plastic cello bag (found at your local super store) tied with ribbon. Add on an inexpensive custom printed gift tag from Paperlicious, and you are ready to send your party guests home in style!
