Mom Biz Monday! Type A, Inc. Is A Super Hero For Your Business

Ms. Paperlicious used to work at a record label. With Kid Rock. Really, she did!

And she worked at said record label with a smart savvy business woman named Angela McLain, who has now started her own company, Type A, Inc.

Angela is one of of those people that, we think, was sort of born knowing everything. Do you have any friends like that? We're not talking about a know-it-all kind of attitude. She's humble and down to earth, but she just, well, knows. She knows how to solve almost any problem, soothe any awkward situation. Can you feel the love!?

Anyhow- she's also an amazing single mom (of course!) and has managed to make Type A, Inc. a success less than a year after start-up.

What is Type A, Inc.? From their website:

Type A is a full service, completely customizable, Virtual operations solution. We plug directly into your business to give it the attention it needs in the areas of finance, human resources, and management. We save you time and money and you get to focus on the areas of your business that you enjoy.

In other words, Type A, Inc. is who you want to have answer your bat signal in the sky. Your own personal super hero to straighten it all out. Whatever "it" is!

Thoughtful Thursday

One of the favorite twitterers (is that a word?) MsPaperlicious likes to follow is Rev Run. Yes, that's right, Reverend Run from RunDMC. 'Cause he just knows. Like yesterday's tweet:

"You block your dreams when you let your fear grow bigger than your faith."

Check him out: http://twitter.com/#!/RevRunWisdom

Always inspiring!

Cheers!
Ms. Paperlicious

And not nearly as serious, but just as fun - check out our custom invitations for some inspiring party ideas too!

Party Tip Tuesday - Hurray for Hollywood!

We are loving our new Hollywood Party Invitations, and not just because of the upcoming Oscars, or the Golden Globes which just happened. We just think it's a fun fashionable party idea.

Throwing a Hollywood themed shindig for your next birthday party? Here's a few ideas to make sure it's an A-list gathering.

First, start with a stylish invitation - like these Night In Hollywood Party invites or these Walk Of Fame Hollywood Invitations. Paperlicious has a slew of custom invitations perfect for your fashionable fĂȘte.

If you are throwing a kid's party, roll out the red carpet, or red beach towels, or red paper for a fun walk up to your house. Get parents to stand "behind the rope" with their cameras and flash away like papparazzi when the kids enter the house.

Plan a fancy party drink named after the guest-of-honor. One of Ms. Papericious' favorites is club soda and sherbert or cranberry juice. Both taste like sweet tarts and look great. Use colored sugar for a truly fancy look. Edge the rim of the glass in lime juice, then dip it in a plate of sugar granules. Carefully pour in the drink. Top with a silly straw or umbrella.

How about a yummy Star Chocolate pop as a party favor? Here's a mold where you can make them yourself using melting chocolates from a craft store. Yum!

What about a quick limo ride around the town? If you are having a small party at home, you can rent a fancy stretch limousine (black only, of course!) and pile the kids in the car to drive them home, even.

Just a few fun tips to make your Hollywood Themed Party a hip hot gathering!

Cheers!

Thoughtful Thursday

"Start where you are" - Pema Chodron

Our thought today is actually a beautiful book by the American Buddhist writer. So simple yet so true. And a great meditation for those new years resolutions. Whether you want to lose weight, eat better, or go to church more, all you can do is start right where you are. Don't wait!

http://www.beliefnet.com/frameset_offsite.asp?pageLoc=http://www.shambhala.com&script=%2Findex%2Findex_10001.html

Ms Paperlicious is starting with our zen lavender yoga invitations to inspire her to create more thoughtful peaceful designs. That, and a cup of coffee.

Green Tip Thursday - Where do I recycle that?

Have you ever wondered where you should recycle your fancy mercury containing light bulbs (compact flourescent lights or CFLs)? Ms. Paperlicious was wondering the same thing recently and boy was she happy to learn that Home Depot, Lowe's and Ikea will all take the bulbs. That's a lot easier than visiting the dump or an out-of-the-way recycling center.

What about batteries. Or pesticide containers? Or Christmas trees? Just visit www.earth911.com, put in what you want to recycled plus the city and click "search" and voila! Your answer comes up. Sweet!

Here's another great tip to store in your brain: How to clean up a CFL if it breaks... Read about it here on Buzzle.com. Did you know you should NOT use your vaccuum? Ms. Paperlicious is glad she read up on the subject because the vacuum is the first thing she would grab.

Paperlicious uses only 100% recycled fiber paper from a mill that supports sustainable forestry. Check us out at www.paperlicious.com for all of your custom invitations, photo cards, and green stationery needs!

Party Tip Tuesday- Little Chefs Cooking Party!

Sometimes, the best kid's birthday party ideas are the most simple themes that happen right at your own home. What great memories for your child to look around their house every day and remember what fun they had with their special friends and family. And, it's way less expensive! Sure there's a little more clean-up, but maybe it's worth it for so many happy memories.

Here's a great party idea for younger kids that is big on creativity and easy on the budget. A Little Chefs Cooking Party!

Ms. Paperlicious' little beans were recently invited to a cooking party that they still talk about as being one of their favorites. The super-creative mom had all the details covered.

She chose these cute little cooking party invitations from Paperlicious:

First, the kids decorated their very own hot pink kid-sized aprons that she purchased at a craft store. She had fabric pens, puffy pain, paint brushes and stencils. The result is still a favorite play item in the toy kitchen!

Then they moved to the dining room where they decorated their own pizza with sauce, cheese, and toppings. She bought pre-made dough at the grocery store and rolled out little 5" rounds from the dough. Yum!

While the pizzas were cooking, the kids decorated their own cupcake with toppings like chocolate covered marshmallows, m&ms, and sugar hearts. Check out these stellar creations!

The best part was they got to look at their cupcakes while they gobbled up their pizza. A great way to motivate a kid to eat a few veggies!

As you can see, the theme was pink, pink and more pink. Easily a color you can find at any super-store or party store.

Check back next Tuesday for another great party tip!

Mom Biz Monday! Indestructibles Books for Baby

Ms. Paperlicious sometimes thinks she does it all- what with twins AND her own business. Then she remembered her friend Amy from Indestructibles. Amy has triplets folks, and a successful business. And if you have more than one young child, you know that sometimes 2 toddlers is like 4, which makes 3 toddlers like, gulp, 6!

Yet somehow she has managed to launch one of the most unique products out there for babies. You can find Indestructibles in places like Target! Target folks! She is my hero.

These books make great gifts for new moms and babies. Plus they will last for the next little bean too!

So check out our Mom Biz Monday spotlight as we marvel at what Amy has accomplished...

ABOUT (from their website):
Indestructibles™ was founded by a mother of triplets who quickly found that paper books, even "board books" are too easily turned to mush and can even be a choking hazard. Wishing to provide her children with a book that they could "read" as much as they wanted, she enlisted the help of Kaaren, who developed three working prototypes--three beautiful child-size picture books that were instant and enduring hits. In December 2009 the books were released by Workman Publishing.

Indestructibles™ introduces a revolutionary new baby book invented by a mother of triplets who wanted to share books with her babies, hassle-free. They are water-proof, tear-resistant, and baby-durable, making them the perfect books for babies who "read" with their little hands and mouths.
